#tbt Me with the great trumpet master Clark Terry when I was around 13 years old. Every year until I graduated from high school, Mr. Terry gave me scholarships to his band camps. And almost every summer I would go to the camps and learn so much from masters like him, Al Grey, Marshall Royal, & Snooky Young. I am forever thankful to him for this. He is such an amazing, humble spirit and a true master. Mr. Terry has just been placed in hospice. Please keep him in your prayers. #clarkterry #master #trumpet #musician #mentor #love

he adopted so many of us into his family. I’ll forever be grateful for the love and guidance he showed all of us. his brilliance on the Trumpet can be heard forever now on numerous recordings. because of his grace and generosity as a teacher and mentor to Miles Davis & Quincy Jones among many others we have musical gems like ‘Kind of blue’, ‘Sinatra Live at the Sands’, ‘Off the Wall’, ‘Thriller’ and so many other great game changing recordings to enjoy. he was a true master musician, teacher, mentor, friend, band mate and innovator. I’ll never forget the day we met, the last time we spoke, and every time In between those. infinite amounts of love and gratitude to Gwen for all her grace through this time. may she find comfort.THANK YOU CT. WE LOVE YOU MADLY.

Woke up this morning to the news of Clark Terry’s passing. I had the honor to have worked with Master Terry and had a personal relationship with him. He was truly a very great human being, This was a legendary night because it was the first time Clark Terry and @snoopdogg met. We could not stop laughing because CT would not stop telling jokes… The world will truly miss his greatness.

This beautiful soul is renowned Jazz Musician CLARK TERRY whom I performed with twice in Cincinnati & Kentucky at Fountain Square and Coconut Grove.
